CLOSED: Have: Polygonum cuspidatum 'Crimson Beauty' & Liriope

I'm cleaning up my Polygonum cuspidatum 'Crimson Beauty' and have rooted shoots to trade. Here's the link to the PF page for it - http://davesgarden.com/pf/go/57524/index.html Now, I know the name of this plant strikes fear in the hearts of many, because of the extreme invasiveness of P. cuspidatum. It is my belief, however, that this is 'Crimson Beauty' which is touted to be not nearly as invasive. All I can do is tell you my experience with it. This clump has been in the same place for 30 years and has not moved. The number of canes or stalks has increased, but they're all in a very tight bunch. It is not invasive at all for me in zone 7a. Several nurseries sell this particular cultivar because it is lovely and not invasive (so they say and I have experienced). Do some research, google Polygonum cuspidatum 'Crimson Beauty' (both the web and images), etc. Below is a picture of mine in full bloom in September/October of year before last. Here's a link to a thread on the ID board where we discussed it a bit further. http://davesgarden.com/forums/t/588631/

I've got tons of Liriope (Monkey Grass, Lily Turf) to trade, as well.

I'd love to trade for perennials. I have full sun, dry shade, an almost-constantly-wet area that gets full mid-day and evening sun, pretty much every scenario except damp shade, but I can water! I'm just starting out with perennials, so I don't even have many of the most common ones, and blue is my favorite flower color. ;o)

Thanks!

Hi, RG, I would like to try some of your Polygonum 'Crimson Beauty'. I have some white heirloom peony, maidengrass Miscanthus sinensis, or Daylily 'Hyperion'. Let me know if you're interested.

Thanks,
Lana

Hi Lana! I'd love some of your Daylily 'Hyperion'. I'll dmail you.

Hi RainGazer: I am starting a trail back to my woodland flowers and would love some of your Polygonum cuspidatum 'Crimson Beauty'. I don't really care if it did become a bit invasive in that area. I don't think I've actually seen this before but it says it grows in Zone 5, so I would like to give it a try. D-mail me if you are interested in a trade. Ruth

I'm sending you a dmail, Ruth. :o)

I have some rooted gaura and tropical hibiscus I'd like to trade for the Polygonum cuspidatum 'Crimson Beauty' . let me know. thanks, julie

Julie, I'm dmailing you. I think there are some shoots just peeking through that I can get for you in a couple days.

Otherwise, I'm marking this closed. Other than those few late shoots, the Polygonum is getting to the point that it's too tall to ship. If you'd like to tentatively set up a trade for next spring, just dmail me. :o) Thanks all!

I still have TONS of Liriope though! LOL
