Mark, I crossed it before it opened with Kermesina and then hit it again yesterday with pollen from Loefgrenii. I did not have another Gritensis close enough to opening to deal with.

I keep coming back to look at this flower. I'm not even sure why, but I find it stunning. Simple, vibrant colors, and so much attitude in one flower! How long is the peduncle?

Well, when I got home last night, the 2nd one was opening so I quickly opened one that was close to opening and pollenated it so we'll see what happens.

You should put the photos in the Plant Files--they don't have any for P. gritensis.
