Last year I planted yellow and shocking pink Freesias and they produced seeds. This year when I was checking my blooms ..... I was shocked I got a new color....... Orange.
Any body have seen this color before?

Here .... what I planted last year
I got new Specie??????
Wow those are beautiful.
Congratulations! Very pretty!
Ursula
Does it smell like the yellow ones (which I think are delightfully similar to Fruit Loops!)
Kaleem, I was not sure if I had sent you Freesia bulbils. I am delighted to see they contributed to the beauty you obtained. You have obviously a 'magic touch' when it comes to gardening.
I know you are busy with your studies but want you to know I have missed your threads.

I didn't smell the blooms, I was shocked when I saw first time and forget to smell..........LOL

I also miss also but studies are first, Daily I download my assignments and DG is also opened on my PC but no time for writing. I already missed my one semester and now there is no more chance to do this again. But soon I will be in the DG as I was.
Thank you so much for asking. By the way ....... You are also writing rarely???

It's very pretty Kaleem! I haven't seen one like that, but I haven't seen many Freesias at all! There are some with orange but you've got a very special flower there. It's a very wide open flower and looks strong, the colour combination is a winner!
I have a tulip which has never flowered before and it looks to be a cross between the red and yellows which are in the same place. There was a few bulbs growing in the grass which I made into a proper border in 1999, I replanted all the bulbs but have only ever had red, bright yellow and a paler yellow with a fine red edge.
That's just the right length of time if they crossed and set seed but I've never seen seed on them, but then I haven't really looked. It's orange! Read and yellow makes orange!

Thank you for the comments, You are right some times miracles happened and you also have a very pretty new color with black waving centre, which is encircle with yellow color.
How are your clivias? Any new growth?
Kaleem
The Clivias are very slow! One of the two larger of the variegated lot has decided it didn't want to grow, the leaf started to rot but the root still seems OK. The next biggest is coming along well, is broad and looks to have some variegation. Others barely moving.
The other two on their own are getting bigger, they look good!
I'll have to update with some pics.
