Yeah....I got mine too. I am amazed at how fast and efficient Ann did all this. Thanks again Ann. Everything looks great. Nice big healthy looking cuttings. Got mine soaking too. Now I must hurry and clear the aquarium of all the other things that have rooted in there & make room.
Fun playing plants now.

Joann...I'll look for the bloom...it is 'hemispherical' and big and great fragrance... NOTE: I did find these cuttings very hard to start in the fall...think spring is the best time!!

Mine are here too. Thanks Ann, you are the best for going to all this effort! H. retusa is really interesting looking.

Long Beach, CA

Hey....I keep looking in my mail...but still no invoice from David. Is everything OK there I wonder? I guess he is just behind in getting the invoices filled out.
Marcy

Murrells Inlet, SC(Zone 8a)

Everyone's cuttings look great!!! David sends very nice stuff and i've never had any difficulty at all in getting them to root other than a few of the thin wirey stemmed ones which didnt seem to travel well to begin with.

Mark if you think the retusa cutting is interesting looking just wait till you see a full basket of it!! It looks like something from another planet! If I had of encountered this plant in a store i'd of never guessed it to be a hoya. Leaf wise retusa and linearis are just the odd balls of the hoya world!!

It seems to grow pretty fast also or at least it does for me. I bought mine on ebay and have beeng growing it for just a little over a year now,it was about 4-5" long when I got it and it now fills a 6" basket and is at least 2ft in length. Now if I could just get it to bloom.

I really like Joannes sp.1391 with the red leaves also.

Mine came today - they're soaking in ST. I ordered: h. lambii IML 1800, h. lambii IML 1046, h. excavata IML 1007, h. australis ssp australis "Brookfield" IML 0256, h. acuta IML 0738, h. glabra IML 992, h. aff. nervosa IML 1818, h. pentaphlebia IML 0391, h. albiflora IML 0299, h. marginata IML 1727, and h. micrantha IM 1442 - almost all are big-leaved beauties! I'm VERY HAPPY!! I'll contribute a picture when they're potted up.
Thank you so much, Ann, for doing this! It is appreciated!
I also received some more cuttings from Awanda today - THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU, Sistah A - you are wonderful!!!!!!

I got a question.
As I potted these up, I see on some of them peduncles or bloom spurs here & there. I am wondering if I should cut those off to give the full plant energy to the production of roots, or just leave them on????
Also, sometimes I end up with a huge lonnnnggg vine at the end of the leaves that has no more leaves to it, but is maybe 2 feet long. What does one do with this extra? Will it grow roots and leaves if I put it in a zip lock bag or something?

Mesa, AZ(Zone 9a)

Congrats on everyone's new hoya babies, they all look great! I have the sp. 1391 and it's one of my favorites!

Marcy you read my mind. I would like to know the same things.

Awanda, do you have a photo of the bloom for sp.1391?

Epiaddict: Looks like you hit the jackpot! Nice Plants!

Long Beach, CA

To clear something up....
I don't think that hoya is "sp. 1391". I think it is just called Hoya sp.
The 1391 is the IML number. The IPPS number is 8898.
I got that one also and that is the way it is listed on mine.
Marcy

Keaau, HI(Zone 11)

Marcy...I think Joann meant to write H. sp. IML 1391.

OH...and about the long vines with no leaves...I have been very lucky taking those long vines and winding them around the inside of a pot, holding the nodes down to the soil and sprinkling a bit more soil on the nodes. If the vine isn't too immature, it will often sprout at the nodes and make a nice pot of plants. It does take a bit longer...but it works, often. I have done it with H. limoniaca, H. pusilla, H. pubicalyx and a number of others.

Thanks for answering that Carol. Sometimes the fingers get ahead of the brain...or may be the other way around.... :~) -joanne

Has anyone gotten an invoice from David Liddle yet? I have been repeatedly checking my email for an invoice so that I can paypal money......I owe quite a bit, and I really, really, hate to owe.........

Ann, do you know anything specific about payment? Just don't want to keep anyone waiting.

Thanks,
Sara

Philomath, OR

Sara, Last year is my only experience with this but it was at least a week after I got the cuttings. I have not recieved my invoice from him either so I don't think there is anything to worry about. I have my money tucked away in a small zipper bag in my purse so the DH won't rob me :~) He thinks Ann sent me more cuttings. Gee, that Ann is so generous! Ya' gotta love her! God bless, -joanne

Great Falls, MT(Zone 4a)

LOL Joanne!! My DH thinks that my friends Helen and Menjie, are bigger hoya pigs than I am, as the three of us all went in on the order!! HA! He hasn't asked about the cost/cutting division, and is quite sure that if there are three of us ordering, it can't be that expensive on his end. It helps that I do all of the bill paying, and that classic mustang parts are FAR more expensive than hoyas!

Long Beach, CA

lol....I think that is so funny cause I always say things like that too. (My friends are sending me more cuttings...or it's another hoya trade). Ha. However this time, I really wasn't going to order anything as I didn't have any money, so I mentioned that to Paul that there was another big order going out to DL this spring, but I wasn't going in on it for lack of moola. Low & behold, he handed me a wad of dough & said, Oh go ahead & get some for yourself too. WOW...was I shocked.
So I have my money all sitting in Paypal waiting for the invoice too.
(guess I should play "poor little hoya deprived gal" more often....ha ha.

I got my invoice this morning from Mr. Liddle

I came home with my box of cuttings and DH rolled his eyes and said "you and your plant swapping", I just smiled and went straight in the house. What he doesn't know wont hurt him right?
