I keep finding blooms on the ground that look like they have been cut from my brug. What could be causing this? I have looked over the plant and don't see any worms or anything on the plant.
Thanks,
Loosing blooms
Hummm that is a weird one! I've never had that happen..(knock on wood) sounds like a caterpillar? Cut worm? So sorry that is happening to you!
*edited to say.. I'd spray with BT just to be safe..

Is it a "young" brug? Are the stems on the buds that fell off a little yellow? If so, it could be that your brug is still a bit young to handle blooming right now. I had that happen to my EDW last year for months, until finally it bloomed in October.
No it's not a young plant. It has bloomed several times before. This is the first time this has happened. There are still some blooms that might actually get to open. There have been a lot of squirrels in my yard, could they be the cause of this or a bird?
If they get real dry inbetween waterings with the extreme temps it can cause the buds to drop and then it can be just the opposite also by being too wet will cause them to drop also.

What's so strange is that they look like the buds have been snapped off. They are yellow like too dry or to wet they are pretty and green.
Mine will do the same thing if they wilt between waterings and it has been real hot that day. And yes they do look like they are snapped off, they don't wither, they just fall off the next day or so leaving a stubb where the bud was.

I had some leaves coming off and could not find any critters causing it.. then went out one night late and found a worm hapily chewing... squish... no more worm and no more leaf loss! I have learned to check both day and night for critters.

Guess I will be checking tonight and see what I can find.
