I know I need to post a picture, but can't do it just now. I bought a plant labeled "ginger" last week. It is obviously not a ginger.
It has leaves that remind me of aspidistra in texture.
If you can picture a bird feather and the way the integral parts lie, the leaf is shaped the same way. The viens run diagonally upward and outward from the center of the leaf. The leaves are variegated dark green, white and light pink on the tops. The bottoms of the leaves are variegated green and the color pink of ti leaves. The leaves are shiney and "hard".
Right now the plant is in a quart pot and the leaves are about 10 inches long.
Anybody have any ideas what I have? If not, I'll post some pictures later on.
Thanks.
Kay

Try Stromanthe sanguinea "Triostar (?)
Ditto on the Stromanthe (and it is in the ginger family).
Thanks, Guys and Gals! I knew I could count on you!
Stromanthe Sanguinea Tricolor it is! Now I know what it is and how to take care of it.
