Hi all!
I'd really like to try for these butterflies and cats this year. Can anyone tell me of host plants that they have had success with? I've been unable to locate any of the ones listed in my Fl Butterfly Gardening book. Ahhh! The search is on....:)
Common Buckeye-FL help!
According to"Florida Butterfly Gardening" by Minno and Minno,
Snapdragon, Plantain, Vervain, and Acanthus families which includes gerardia, blueheart, toadflax, plaintain (plantago lanceolata), carpetweed and twinflower, and ruellia caroliniensis among others.
Thanks! I have all the books ...I just wanted to know if anyone had the Cat's in their garden and if so what plant were they successful with.
Thanks to anyone who can help!

Oh, misunderstood. Well, I don't have any of these plants but have seen the common buckeye drink from the Duranta.
Nope! Can't say that I have ever seen any. But I have been seeing a Red Admiral in my yard the past couple weeks. So ..... anything is possible! ;-)
Here is a web link that shows all the counties in Florida where they reside. And they do reside in my area, but I've never seen one.
