Can't "HyperText"

I have Windows XP. I tried to follow the instructions on how to "HyperText"; however, when I go to "Edit" the only function it allows me is to "Select All"; I can't "Copy". I went into "Properties" to see if there was something I could change. There is only one tab "General". It reads "HyperText Transfer Protocal", "Type - Not Available", "Connection - Not Encrypted.".

Can anybody help me? Most computer talk goes over my head so I would appreciate being walked through any explanation. Thanks.
