yard has the blaghs

Jackson, SC(Zone 8a)

all my crepe mrytles look like crud. my bigoniese was blooming so well and now it looks like winter sucked it dry.

my crepes are various ages so we will see. i aint even looked at my fig tree. i know my princess tree looks like it did in the dead of winter Naked. it had so many green leaves on it.

the grass is brown. too i dont know if some of my other plants will come back or not.

the knock out roses seems to be liking it though.

BUT THE GOOD THING it killed off some more mosquitoes and bad bugs like fleas.

i still have the 2 hummers that came before the cold snap. they are mainly eating on the feeders though.

Georgetown, SC(Zone 8a)

Way to look on the bright side! No bugs! :)
Serously though, the crape myrtles really should come back. Might take a while. Some rain would sure help!
I don't know about fig trees though.

Don't think that you can kill off mature fig trees. It may take a while to recover its leaves, but here in zone 7b we haven't had any fruit set yet.

Johns Island, SC

Got fig trees (with young fruit forming), got frost (31 degrees), haven't noticed any damage yet. The real crop hasn't formed yet, but I suspect damage will just be limited to a later-forming main crop. May be a good thing---might confuse the birds and the squirrels!

Jackson, SC(Zone 8a)

hmmm my poor hummers are confused. they are draining 2 feeders. one for each hummer i guess.

they callin for rain tommorow so we will see. you know how the south is with rain. it can rain on one side of the road and never touch the other side.

Garner, NC(Zone 7b)

It rains in a circle around Garner. Think somebody knows how expensive water is out here???

Georgetown, SC(Zone 8a)

I SO hope they're right about the rain!

Jackson, SC(Zone 8a)

i got touch and go showers tonight. oh well at least i got a few drops for the plants.

Lucky us! It began raining last night, and is continuing today. I put in all the perennials that I bought before the cold snap yesterday in hopes that it would water them in for me. Love those weather guys today.
