Versi Orange Shows Off This Evening

Fort Lauderdale, FL(Zone 10b)

This is Versi Orange. Tonight she decided to strut her stuff. With so many people across the country suffering weather setbacks this spring, I figured I would share her blooms with you guys....Take a deep whiff.....she is heavily fragrant.

WOW what a lovely breath of fresh air, that plant is simply beautifull.

Sometimes we get so obsessed trying to obtain the "new" brugs we forget about our oldies that bloom like this on a regular basis.....

Greensburg, IN(Zone 6a)

That is so true, and it is amazing the price they are getting even for those "new" seeds when the older plants are just as lovely.

Lima, OH(Zone 5a)

Beautiful! Thanks for sharing.

Maybe it won't be too much longer before we see some brug blooms. I have VO also, it is a good bloomer and smells so good............ahhhhhhh...............hurry up spring!.

Calhoun, KY(Zone 6b)

Really pretty... If you ever take cutting from that baby I would love to have one...

Versi Orange is a great bloomer here in the heat of the south. For those people looking for a heat tolerant brug VO should very seriously be considered. Here is how she looks during the day. The other shot is a night with flash shot.

Philadelphia, PA(Zone 6b)

Gary-
Wow that is a beauty! And this was one of those you said didn't mind full sun-
Does she do well in a container? I have one ten gallon pot- thats the biggest of what I have. I'm off to enjoy that deep whiff, which is still in my mind :-)

She is being grown in full sun in south florida!! That says a lot. She is in a large pot (don't know the gallons). Just remember when being grown in full sun to keep them moist and you will be rewarded with beautiful blooms too.

As the flowers mature, the color gets deeper.....

I just love the color and the fragrance on this one. She also blooms frequently and is not a bug magnet. Because of these traits I've made crosses with her to Salmon Perfection, Pink Smitty,
DayDreams, Double Peach and Creamsickle.
Those are my favorite doubles at the moment. I'm hoping somewhere in those pods there's a match made in heaven.

incredible blooms

Kittrell, NC(Zone 7b)

Only in your garden Gary! Like I have said before, you have the "touch."

Brigham City, UT(Zone 5b)

Are they ever gorgeous. To have such beautiful blooms.
I am so waiting to have my brugs bloom. I have been fighting spider mites (I think that is what they are). I don't know that in Utah, without a greenhouse, that I will ever experience the blooms that others get. But I am trying

Breathtaking! I too am drooling! Can you tell me where I can find one of these beauties? I am looking for a brug that can take the heat and humidity here in South Louisiana.
Thanks,
Cindy

Gary, I have read that some think that Versicolor Peach is almost exactely like V. Orange. I find the Orange is much darker than the peach. It is one I have in the ground here and comes back every year.

Fort Lauderdale, FL(Zone 10b)

Delisa I really think that the region in which they are grown factors in heavily. Versis in the warmer climate get a bit darker I think. I know that in the winter she is a bit paler than here...I have heard people say the same thing you have mentioned but I have also heard they are exactly the same brug. I would bet that's because, with the similarity of the two brugs they have probably been incorrectly passed around with each others name.

RICHMOND, VA(Zone 7b)

My Versi Orange had huge, long blossoms, straight down, and large flushes at one time; was not very hardy as far as bugs are concerned, and had no rosy hue, but was truly an orange.
The color was sometimes different shades of orange, but never any sign of pinkish tones.

who said anything about pink tones? I see no pink.....

I think the picture above, gorgeous as it is, looks very rosy -

Kannapolis, NC(Zone 7b)

Beautiful, Gary.

Fort Lauderdale, FL(Zone 10b)

Polly,
Maybe it's just the picture or your monitor needs adjusting because there is no pink tone to the blooms....It is truly orange not rosey
