A pic of my Spring Bulb Bloom

Cincinnati (Anderson, OH(Zone 6a)

Hi, everyone!

Just wanted to show you a pic of our Easter cake.

We used daffs, tulips and muscari from the garden on the 'Hummingbird Cake'.

Actually it was prettier than it tasted. But, oh, well....

Hope everyone enjoyed the weekend. t.

And our daughter cut little daffs and muscari blooming in the garden to use with the napkin rings and around the colored eggs.

tabasco - such a nicely decorated cake and table! Did you get your inspiration from a flower show? The Boston Flower Show always has a category for decorating tables with cut flowers in in interesting ways.

Hi, sedum--thanks!

No, I didn't really think of the flower show displays, but now that you mention it, the Cincinnati Flower Show always has a big cake decorating show and a table decoration display pavillion, too. So maybe subconsciously some of those ideas rubbed off!

I just spent a little extra energy with the cake and setting the table because my sister and her family were coming and they really appreciate those touches. And the are fun to do!

Most of the daffs were gone in the garden though, so we were a bit restricted in our decorating. LOL

How pretty! Lovely presentation- I really enjoy table-scapes. Is your hummingbird cake the recipe with bananas and pineapple with cream cheese icing? I love that! But, I am kind of like Grace on "Will&Grace" when it comes to cake, LOL- I rarely meet a cake I don't like!
