Container size advice, please?

San Bernardino, CA(Zone 8b)

Hi, I've got two brug "babies" that are quickly getting large in their pots. I'm in San Bernardino, CA (inland southern california) and am wondering, should I replant these two now before it starts getting super hot? And if so, how large should the new container be?

Both these pics are of the brugs in ceramic pots that are 9" diameter and 9" tall. What should I do for optimum plant health?

This is Miss Emily MacKenzie - you can't really tell from the pic but there are two stalks right next to each other.

This is Velvet Rose in the same size pot as Miss Emily.

And for some contrast, this is Geneveive in a ceramic pot that is 11" diameter by 17" tall.

Maybe I should pot the little ones up to this sized pot? I just don't know and am looking for "expert" advice.

Thanks a bunch!

:You have to be careful when you are potting up, it is best to move them up to a pot 1 to 2 inches larger when they are small. The problem with moving up from a very small pot to a large pot is that you must be able to contol the amount of water they get. If you can do that and keep them moist but not wet than you can pot up to a larger size pot. I can't do that here where I am at in Florida, we are starting to get afternoon rains and my husband tends to be very helpful and waters my plants right after I have just watered them LOL. So I start cuttings in a soil less mix in a 2"x5" pot, then I move them to an azalea pot which is about 5 or 6 inches in diameter, then they go to 1 gallon, 3 gal, 5 gal, 7-10 gal, in the ground or 15-20gal ect...
When they are small they will have to be repotted every 2 to 3 weeks because they tend to grow really fast at first and they become top heavy also and need the weight of a bigger pot.

Hope this helps
Connie
