Some Advice, Please....

Denton, TX(Zone 7a)

I bought a Passon Flower from someone on ebay...it is one that I really wanted (aren't they all?) When I opened the box, it was to find a naked Passi, it wasn't wrapped in anything. I took it out of the box, it has been too cold to get outside and plant it...that is the plan tomorrow. Needless to say, it is very wilted..it is wrapped in damp paper right now.
When I plant it, should I cut off the wilted, crispy leaves, and hope for the best?

Allow it to shed the leaves by itself, unless there are great numbers of them. If they're crispy, though - go ahead and remove them.
Leave the plant in a low-light location for a few days. Don't be tempted to overwater. Your plant needs quiet recovery time before you bring it outside.
What variety is it?

It is a Tricolor (Woodland Passi flora) Moriflolia is the Latin name...
so you think I should plant it, but keep it inside, for a few days> Right now, it is just wrapped in damp paper towels...
Thanks for your advice...roses have been my thing, I am branching out to Clematis and Passion Flowers.

I can't believe someone sent you a bareroot passiflora wrapped in wet paper towels.
Passiflora should always be shipped in the pot.
Yes, plant it right away, but just moisten the soil. You can also give it a misting after you plant.
It is in shock.
Talk to it. Tell it you love it...

It wasn't wrapped in anything at all..it was naked! I have wrapped it in paper towels until I can get outside to plant it. It has been cold here (40's..today it is in the 50's)
I have been talking to the poor thing and telling it, things will be allright.and how excited I am to have such a beautiful plant...

I think you should complain to the seller and try to get your money back just in case all of your efforts aren't quite enough to resurrect the poor thing.

I have emailed the seller to let him know, just in case...he hasn't answered me.

I hope all the great advice here helps. Anything you can do to bump up the humidity while it recovers would assist as well. I'm crossing my fingers that you will be enjoying the fabulous blooms this summer!

Okay, anything is worth a try...I will put it in the bath room for a few days it is more humid in there, and I am likely to talk to it more while it is there....
Thanks to everyone!
