Have had some topsoil/ grading done in an area that has been subject to fairly substantial water run off. What is a fast growing grass seed that will help hold this soil in place

Southern grasses do not grow fast from seed. The exception is annual rye grass which is usuallly sown for winter color as it dies out in the heat. Suggest you sod that area ASAP.
