We actually had a little snow here this morning. The prediction was for a flake or two, but our cars had a light covering of snow on them, and a little snow on the mailbox. My kwanzan cherry still has it's blooms. The cold got my white azalea blooms, but oddly, not the red ones planted right next to them. It is supposed to be colder tonight though, so I expect anything tender that has made it so far will succumb tonight.
Snow this morning in N. Raleigh
I was up at 3:45 this morning and watched a little flurry action myself...
It suposed to go down to 24 tonight and we had not checked the oil till this AM Brrrr we have approx. 6 inches in the drum.
Glad I didn't wake up in time to see the snow but Mike Moss said it was really comming down on his wasy into the TV station this AM.
Lavina
Here in the Western Mountains woke up to about an inch of snow yesterday morning, and this morning we are sitting at 15 degrees. Even things that were covered have fallen prey to the cold. All our Japanese Maples leaves are frozen too. Pretty much everything is done for. :(
Gary
I'm so sorry, Gary for your loss...I myself think my Vebernum Tree/Bush that I recently transplanted is a goner. Being a newbie, it's hard to tell.
But you and I both have lots of warm sunny days ahead to plant new things!
Have a Blessed Easter!
I live in coastal Surf City. The wind took the cover right off of my Boston ferns and the
tips look a little burned. I had gotten industrious earlier in the week an transplanted three
flats of plants into my containers for my "deck garden". Most are petunias, the floribunda, not waves. So far they are surviving! The salt air is not conducive to plant health.
Hey, Pinger.
I'm from Mooresville, too. My family still lives there. How is your Viburnum? Haven't heard from Mom that anything took too much of a hit.
