need help on problem with program

When I boot up, windows XP home gives me an error message before it completes setup. problem states 32.dll was relocated in memory (RTHDCPL.EXE) I did a dir and found that EXE program was in C:windows and C:hpdriversrealtek_hd_audio. If I go into those subdir and del those file will I correct the problem? My machine is a compaq/hp. I just did an update from hp and I think that was the problem.
Any help will be appreciated.
