Wanted-clumping bamboo and sugar cane

Riverview, FL(Zone 9b)

I am looking for some clumping bamboo and some sugar cane.
In regards to the sugar cane, I am looking for the "soft" type for chewing. My kids really want this.

Take a look at my list for a possible trade.

Thanks

I have a less than perfect clump that needs to get in the ground. And I Know Where You Live.

I would like varigaeted ginger, sounds pleasant.

Dale,
that would be great.
Are you going to the Usf sale this coming weekend?

WHAT'S THAT BLUE STUFF? lol

Ariel,
I have sugarcane contacts in Dade City and Wimauma. It is probably a little out of season for planting right now, but I can D-Mail you with further info. My friend in Wimauma has soft green chewing cane. The Tampa Farmer's Market sells sugarcane, but again it is probably out of season--just barely for them. One of the other smaller farmer's markets there would be possibilities, too--like Ybor City. (Mine is out of season until about August.)

Sugarcane,

Thanks. Any info would be great! I heard that they were out of season but I figure I would try.

Ariel,

Believe it or not - no plant sale, no time.

dale, is this some kind of floridian lupine? i thought at first it was bluebonnets but the foliage is different. this lupine grows where it's hot. does it need acid soil to grow? i love the stuff. thanks for the link.

sorry. i thought you grew those in florida. is that not your picture? lupines don't do too well in texas as i have been told it's too hot. so i wondered if those grew wild in florida or maybe in your garden and if they did that i might could grow them too. lol.

It's growing in a field in Sarasota, FL

well do they only grow in acid soil? do those multi-colored ones grow in florida too? sorry to take your thread over ariel. i thought it was heat that they couldn't take but maybe it is that we have alkaline soil.
