Thought you might enjoy these pictures of my girls realizing that about 8" of snow fell last night. We all feel the same way as Pandora ( the barred rock) but she captures it well.

We only got a dusting this morning, I didn't let my girls out yet. They are probably wondering were I am this morning. My silkies hate snow, they look at it and do a back up dance. So funny. One good thing, it will melt fast this time of the year.
Oh What Beautiful Girls!!! They are just the prettiest things and look quite happy to be indoors with that snow out side!

I'm darn right ticked off at this weather. We're back to February here!! I was getting use to the nice spring temps and thinking about cutting my grass... Michigan stinks 9 months out of the year. Don't let anyone else tell you different.

Yes, the snow did pack down to about 4 inches by the end of the day, but DH is still all fired up about not getting his lacrosse team out on the fields. Looks like it is going to be a while before he gets them practicing out there.

BYH: what pretty girls! I am sure they are NOT loving the snow and I don't blame them one bit. You have actually made me feel much better today..............as I was sitting here grumbling about having to go put ALL my plants back in my greenhouse since it is suppose to be 34*F tonight. UGH. Hey Y'all, well we didnt get snow but the temps dropped here Drastically! Its at 33 right now but I understand it hit 29 last night! Going to go even lower tonight!
Yep the tiny Bantams are in the brooder in the back hallway! The older girls born on the 11th of March are in the chicken barn. they have a new set up in there now. Mama BPRock is in her 4x4 rabbit cage with her nesting box and soon tobe family. I have her cage up on Cinder Blocks that form a tiny little house under her. Ive attached a clamp light with a 100 watt bulb,that shines into the space . over the whole thing Ive covered with a tarp. So as to catch and retain all the heat from the light. Babies go under Mama into the cinder block house and Mama above. Now everybody is safe and warm!

Don't worry Eu, as our chickens up here in the fridgid north proove every winter, chickens are pretty tough!

BYH - - - well, surprise, surprise....................as hard as it is to believe, we too got SNOW this weekend! Set a record that hasn't been broke since 1938. Whewweeee, it was C-O-L-D! It made me appreciate what you deal with all the time! I feel for you, out feeding and watering in that cold stuff. bbbbrrrrrrrrrrr!!!
WOW, you got more snow in Texas than we did here in PA, it's been snowing everyday but not sticking like yours did. But it's still so darn cold here. Supposed to go to 47 tomorrow, YAYYYYYYYYYY, another warm spell.

Cathy, hooray for the warm spell! We too are warming up (again) and however crazy it sounds now...............it will be 81*F tomorrow. This is the wildest weather year I have seen in my lifetime. First the flooding, then April snow in Texas????? Quite the year so far! I'm almost afraid of what summer will be like! I'll be wishing I lived closer to you Northern gals in a couple of months. I truly dislike all those 100*F+ days we have. Its so hard on all the animals.

I was wondering also what kind of summer we are going to have, this spring has been so weird. All of the fruit trees were in bloom here, no fruit this summer. My cherry tree has been zapped for the past 2 years now, that's terrible. I like 60 degree weather to clean up the gardens in, not to hot, not to cold. But seems like we have been skipping that kind of weather, goes from 40's to 80's to fast.
It's supposed to snow here again THursday! Oi!

Thanks for asking! We're all fine, but just hanging out here, because guess what? It's snowing AGAIN! We got none at all before xmas. none. now it is all here. yay :(
My little human chickies are going crazy about still having to wear snowpants at recess. They are ready for spring. THey loved it when I brought them 2 chickens to be bird experts, tho. We are studying birds in school. Now is usually a good time to go bird watching, but they are all hiding with this weather.
My DH is a lacrosse coach and he is so annoyed. THey haven't gotten on the field ( covered with snow) yet, and they've been practicing since March 1st! Oi vey!
My gals are all mixed up. Lots of them have gone broody, even ones who are not supposed to do that. I don't really care, but they are very put out about the lack of bugs. and I worry for the native birds around here.

Yuck, How much snow are you supposed to get? I just watched the weather channel and that is a large weather maker. We only got 1/4" rain, but tonight 2" of snow, YUCK again. I want to start my gardening, moving plants, continue cleaning the gardens, so much to do. We planted our potatoes 2 weeks ago, the guy at agway told us the cold weather won't hurt the potatoes, I sure hope he's right. Come back to us SPRING.

OH NO, basement flooding, not a fun day for you. Schools around here canceled there Easter break so they can still get out the first week in June. We didn't get the snow last night, just flurries. Thank You God for that, now where is the sunshine.

Okay, so I just missed THREE more days of school due to flooding! It is crazy up here! It's like the apocalypse or something.
Well, if it is the apocalypse, I hope we get the rain of frogs next. I sure would love to see it rain frogs. I love 'em! Can do without the rivers of blood, tho. LOL
The chix are all wet and FUSSY. Madder as a wet hen, you might say...

well today was our first day back to school ,just in time for the 67 kids I direct to do their plays for the school. Awesome. maybe spring has really sprung??
Glad your days have turned to Spring and you are back in School! Those kids have a really wonderful teacher in you and I know they missed you!!! Have fun and enjoy those sweet students!
