Hi starfly!
From the looks of the size of your streps in their pots, I would say wait a while and let them grow a bit more. They all look nice and healthy. What is the plant in the background with the reddish leaf tips?

Homosassa, FL(Zone 9a)

Snowrose
wasn,t sure if you could tell what size pot they was in ,i have them sitting in some small bowls heres another picture of them
the planr with the red tip is (( pentadenia orientandina)) its real weared looking came from rob,s violet barn

Yes, I see...they look fine as they are as far as pot size. They are solo cups, right? You could pot them in a similar size if you want.....you know, if you'd rather have a nicer pot for them. Don't go up too much. I do like that Pentadenia. I know Rob had that a while back. I wonder if he still carries it? Sure would like to have some of that.

Snowrose
no i will leave them far a while and let them grow.
not sure if you can grow a plant from the leaves are not but if you can your welcome to the leaves

Very Nice Eunice! I need to visit Rob's website, havent' been there in awhile! Oh, I love that Columnea with the leaves with red tips too! So Pretty! I did a search and couldn't find that one anywhere and Kartuz has one called Columnea rubra 'cheekwood' that describes it as Large Clusters of Yellow Flowers Striped Purple, Tapered Leaves Tipped Translucent Red. No Photo and they are out of stock! Sure would like to see a photo of that one too with the blooms!

Looks like you got some real Beauties there from Rob's Violet Barn!

Homosassa, FL(Zone 9a)

i love the streps

DC metro, VA(Zone 7b)

dying how? what's happening to it?

Taft, TX(Zone 9a)

I want to hear the answer as to why red hot chili is dying......

Frederick, MD(Zone 6b)

No, I've never tried Lauray. I am put off by most mail order now because of receiving high priced and or infested junk too many times. Just a tad negative, huh? I use a few vendors that I can somewhat count on. Have you ever ordered from them, Keyring?

You do have a great strep collection going there, starfly.

DC metro, VA(Zone 7b)

no I haven't ordered from them - tried once but their gh had just gone through a power outage. I keep going back to their catalog because they offer cuttings. You know I'm not keen on buying whole plants......

Frederick, MD(Zone 6b)

Thanks for putting me on to them. I just looked over their extensive catalog. I may just give them a try as I was tempted by several.

Homosassa, FL(Zone 9a)

it was so pretty when i got it,i have them 2 by there selfs since i got them, first time i have had one to do this from bluebirds, there always nice plants.i made me up some neem oil and washed the roots in it.if it don,t get better i will email libbi and tell her

Your streps look great. I got 3 streps from Rob's and I really love these plants, Seems to me they are MUCH easier to grow then av's -- and I actually like the plants/blooms better than av's. I have an ant eater that is blooming and has been since I got it a month ago, it is so beautiful. I have to go take a look at Bluebird's website - I didn't know they have a catalog.

Seymour, IN(Zone 5b)

gessiegale- I bought a texas red hot chile from them when I redeemed a bingo prize gift certificate. It has three buds and looks healthy at this time. If your's doesn't make it, e-mail me and I can send you a leaf of mine. I will try to post pictures when the buds open. I have blue mars in bloom now and the bloom seems to be staying pretty longer than my others. I really like the bloom on it. Lou

I just placed an order at Bluebird Greenhouse for two Chirita's: ' Diane Marie' & 'Aiko' and an African Violet: 'Alamo Gold Rush', I ordered some pots too cause I'm out! I sure hope these plants are as nice as the order I got from them last year.
