Cooling dog beds?

My Samoyed Mish had a horrible time last summer, even in the air conditioning, and now his coat is even thicker and longer since he has grown up. I seem to remember on one of these threads there was a cooling dog bed mentioned. I did a search, and there are three types. I was hoping there were some DGers out there who have tried any of them and can offer some advice, good or bad. They are kind of spendy, so I want to make sure I get the right one. I think two of them are the Cool Dog II and the Canine Cooler. The third type had crystals in it that you soak in water and they swell up.
