Hello and Thank you from Kansas

Wichita, KS(Zone 6a)

Hello Everyone!
I am from Wichita, Kansas. I have been a subscriber here for a year but just never knew when to "jump in". I have learned so much from DG especially from all the contributors on the forums! I still consider myself a "newbie" at gardening but have been at it for a few years. It started out as just a challenge to get something growing in my mostly shaded yard and very heavy clay soil. Now, I find myself in early March peeking under leaves everyday to see what is coming up! We have an average size residential lot for our area and we have 16 mature trees on it - which I love, but can make planting a challenge - in addition to deeply shaded areas, there are roots everywhere :). My gardening has been mostly shade perennials and annuals and container plants. I am more "hand's on" gardener, trying out plants in different areas and the ones that do well, I add more of that type. I look forward to contributing what I can on DG and learning more. And thank you to all of you who have already taught me a lot. (This is what is growing in my garden today.)

BOUQUETS and a BIG welcome Agebhart to DG! Jump in anytime, I'm sure your contributions and any questions will be more than welcomed by the gardeners here. Thanks for the refreshing, lovely shade garden photo. See you in the garden and waving across the prairie! ;0)

Thank you Garden6. See you across the prairie :).

That's great you've met a fellow member from your own state. I'll wave too, all the way from the red rock country of the high desert of Utah. We probably have some garden things in common. In our heat, the gardens benefit from the shade of trees and I wish I had more.

You've been here almost two years, it's time you jumped into the mix. Post a digital pic of your garden in the Photos forum and let us see it. LOL I stick to close up sections, my garden as a whole needs a lot before it's photo worthy. It's a good way to start meeting folks. ~~ waving ~Blooms

Thanks Blooms! Its good to meet you too! I'll post some pics as soon as the snow melts! Can't believe it. Here I was so pleased with the way all my perennials were coming up so nice and...that is Kansas. I don't know what the snow will do to them.
The pic is my lastest shade garden project. I have ferns and hostas coming up. The "snow" in that pic is actually petals from the Bradford pear tree that shades that area. I took it last week. Thanks for the welcome. I look forward to chatting with you and Garden6.
