I’m fairly new to gardening, this is my fourth year. There should be warning labels on plants that say they can be addicting. My father-inlaw use to always give us the “Tour” of his yard and flowers, but I never really “got it”. We always had big dogs before so we couldn’t even keep a decent lawn. I wish Dad was still with us today to say “I told you so” and to see that I’ve become a bigger addict than him (I’m starting seeds inside this year). So I guess you nice people here will have to stand in for him since I don’t know anyone else who I wouldn’t bore to death when I give them the “Tour” of my garden.
Any forums called Extreme Gardening? My small town named Brunswick is known for it’s hills and I just happen to live at the top of one of the steepest. Here’s my house from the ‘other’ side of the street (where I’m standing is the same street name but the street is split in half).
Hi, new here from Maryland!
Thanks for the flowers garden6, their lovely! I have started a sort of terrace with a line of stones that I've found while gardening that keeps me from sliding down the hill. I don't really want anything formal because I still want to keep a natural woodsy look. I'll probably start another row of rocks to stand on a lower this year as I find more. For now there is a smaller lower deck that I can hang a hammock chair from the upper deck. And if some hangers mysteriously appear in other places, well then.....
Thanks for the warm welcome.
Miata,
Looks like a beautiful place to garden!
Welcome, Shady
another gardener from maryland. we have a few already. how far are you from ocean city. its my favorite place and i will be going there again in sept.
We live about 3 hours away from Ocean City, but I haven't been there in a long time. September is a nice time to go, still good weather but not as crowded. Enjoy yourself!
Welcome Miatablu,
What a lovely place to garden! Thank you for the tour. I probably couldn't help you out with the challenges of hillside gardening - it is really flat where I live - Kansas :) I look forward to chatting with you here.
Hi Bobbie: A belated hello & welcome to DG from another Maryland gardener!
