CLOSED: SABSE Tabebuia seeds

New Port Richey, FL(Zone 9b)

I will have fresh Tabebuia Chrysotricha ipe seeds. My tree is loaded with seed pods and will have plenty of seeds .They germinate much better if they are fresh so I'm posting early so if there is any takers they can send me their sabse's and when they open I can let them dry for a day or two and send them on their way.I pot them up in a community pot and place them in a shady spot and mist them so they won't dry out and before I know it I've got a pot full of seedlings. I'm in the addy exchange. Just put a note in with saying what it's for.

WCGypsy got your's today
As of today the pods are still pretty hard and not sure when they will open .It's rained here the for the better part of the last 2 days so maybe that will soften them up.

Trishann I'm really limited for space ,so I'm not really looking for any seeds but I do thank you for the offer.

New Port Richey, FL(Zone 9b)

Pods started to open today,So I will be sending sase's back in a day or so.Remember to get them in dirt asap for a better germination rate.

Trishann,Margaret,and Sherry
Your seeds are on there way, just got back from the Post Office.Your better get a couple of plastic 1 gallon pots ready with good potting mix and fill to about 1 inch from the top then put half of them in each pot and then cover with about 1/4 to 1/2 inch of soil >water well and put them in a nice shady spot until they germinate. If it's still chilly at night where your at do it inside.Fresh seeds always germinate better so don't dilly dally. When they get about 2 or 3 inches tall seperate them into own pots .Full sun by then . They can take in the 30's degrees but not much colder. until they get about 4 foot tall then they can take a bit colder. When they get about a foot tall put them where you want to stay and if they start to bend over to much your have to do a 3 sided stke job with a loose tie. When the wind is calm it must stand straight on it own that's the only way the trunk will memory strengh.
The Jacaranda down the street is in full bloom WOW is that beautiful. I think I'm going to go get some of those seeds.
Good luck and have fun with them .

Don, I received seeds today . Thank you again and they will be planted in the a.m.....it also looks as though you had to put three cents in postage on it, my apologies, I must have missed that. I'll be sending you some extra postage...it shouldn't cost you to be generous!

New Port Richey, FL(Zone 9b)

Bill, I just recieved your sase and have sent it back out with the seeds,Please get them planted asap for the seeds don't stay viable long at all. In this thread above I discribe how I plant them.Let me know how you make out. Don P.s. remember this winter to protect it from the deep freeze I think your pushing the zone just a bit but it should make a very nice container tree.
