Oi! Palmbob - did you mean unripened seed? They can't be unfertilized, if they are seeds! Thanks for the fruit photos - now I know what to look for to grow my own. This has always been my favourite palm tree!

I mean fruits, sorry.. .they are indeed unfertilized... Nothing inside but fruit... However, there are some containing seed (larger ones) in the same tree.

Thanks for clearing that up! Sterile fruit formation makes a lot more sense. What happens to them in the end? Do you get sterile and fertile fruits on the same tree?
