My second Checkered White emerged today. The first one emerged on 033107 but I didn't get home until late and it was too hard to photograph it inside the reptarium. It wanted out and once I opened the cage it quickly flew away :o)
The second emerged today but since it was still the morning was still a bit cool and damp I was able to pick it up and get several photos before releasing it.
Here's the little bugger :o) It never would open it's wings though...

Great pics Cat!!!
Very nice, Cat! Looks like you have a virtual butterfly aviary going on at your house. :-)
What a pretty butterfly!
Welcome to the TPP Butterfly Conservatory heehee......you are lucky to have so many different butterflies!
I love the Whites... it's a beauty Cat!
When I am out on the road I see hundreds of whites lately, maybe not Checkerd...Not sure, which, but they are a vision along the highways now.
What larval host were your Checkerds raised on Cat?
Deb,
These were using native Pepperweed - Lentejilla (Lepidium Virginicum). It grows wild back at the ranch. Parts of the back pastures are full of it.
Am having fun raising a variety of butterflies.
