I bought the book "Architectural Foliage" by Jill Billington as recommended by a friend here. It is a book about garden design primarily using mass and form, to create pleasing plant groupings. The premise is that "by simplifying plant shapes to almost abstract form" it becomes easier to arrange the masses into balanced groupings. It was worth the $9.44 I paid for it, for Chapters 2 and 4 alone, "The Forms Created By Massed Foliage" and "Plant Association." I created this thread as way of saying thank you, this book illustrates a fundamental concept that I'm sure I will use again and again. And as a continuation of the conversation started on this thread.
