Seeds

Lansing, MI(Zone 6a)

I was given some seeds ( Hibiscus, Cosmos, Nica-tiana, and Hollyhock). What is the best way to start them? I was thinking about just sprinkling them on the ground and seeing what happened. I would like to get them to grow asap. No I am not very patient person. THanks fer the advise

Cosmos, Nica-tiana, and Hollyhock- I would rake the dirt and then plant them-covering them lightly

Hibiscus- I would soak in warm water first and let a few even sprout before planting outside!

Might as well wait for warmer weather

Torquay.......I hope you have extra patience because the Hollyhock are gonna take a few years to bloom.....they are a bi-annual. Keep in mind this little rhyme about perennials.

The Cosmos is a annual and should come up this year as well as the Nicotiana.

The first year they sleep.
The second year they creep
The third year they leap!
