Need more IDs please

Central Texas, TX(Zone 8a)

I am a major novice and did some on line searches but turned up very little. So I need your expertise. The closest I could find on the first one was a butterfly called "clouded sulfur." Is this the right name and if not, what is this little one?

How about this pretty little white one? I have no ideas. Is it a moth or a butterfly? (see I am a novice)

Here is my last one for today. I took this one last year. Pretty black moth, I believe.

All your help is appreciated.

TD - The first photo appears to be a female "Cloudless Sulphur". You almost had the name right! :-)

The second photo looks like a "Gray Hairstreak". They are little cuties! :-) :-) :-)

And the last looks like it might be a "Juvenal's Dusky Wings" butterfly! Looks like it was enjoying your lantana!

Great shots!!!! :-)

Thanks Becky you are amazing!

I am just learning more about butterflies and moths since I got a new camera and macro lens last year.

TD - You've got a nice camera there! Your photos look great! If you get more photos and need more butterfly IDs, do ask! Someone will know what they are! Glad to see another gardener enjoying and learning about the little flying wonders! Have fun butterfly watching and enjoying this forum!! :-)

I'm a novice, too, and I find it quite difficult to ID most butterflies. If they're sitting with their wings together on your plant, then chances are the ID books you've got will only show them with their wings apart! And vice versa! So, Doodle, I'm glad you asked, because I have these same bflies at my place, and I've never been *absolutely* certain what they were.

Maybe I need to buy more books? ;-)

Thanks Becky. You can be sure if I get more pictures I will be back for more IDs. :-)

Carla - More books? Can one have too many? ...Especially when I have no clue what I am doing!!! Thank goodness for DG.

are the sulphurs the first to come visit our gardens or does it depend on whether we have the appropriate host plants for them? I love sulphurs and they have been hovering around my yard. Cant say that I've seen other butterflies yet.
