Will these drown if I water everyday?
I planted all kinds of bulbs that I have never planted before. Ranunculus, gladiolus, calla, caladium, crinum, lily, trillium, canna and probably some more that I am forgetting. Should I water them everyday, or just a few times a week till they sprout? Do they want to be consistently wet until they pop through the soil? I ammended the soil per each plants instructions and DG'ers advice.
Thanks for any info,
chris
Happy April to all! With a question......
The soil has to feel damp but certainly not water logged or the bulbs might rot!
Except for the canna - they can take a lot of water. Some (not all) can grow in up to 4" of standing water, so they are popular to put in ponds.
Ok thanks, I am going to check down in the soil abit instead of just watering as soon as I see the top dry. I will keep the canna a little bit wetter.
