Help needed for sinking brug

Tampa, FL

Hi! Any suggestions for a recently planted in ground 4 feet tall brug that just sunk almost 2 inches? My soil is sand and I must not have compacted the bottom of the hole enough to prevent sinking. Should I dig up and put more soil underneath? Thank you for any advice you can give me.

Wendy your plant will be just fine left as is. That depression will come in handy when you water. The same as tomato plants Brugs don't mind being planted deeper than their original soil line. You could fill that couple of inches with some good compost if you wanted to. :)

LOL Wendy. I love your title. I couldn't figure out what was happening.

You may even get some nice straight suckers with a few nodes now dropped below soil level to sprout. They make the best standards!

Thanks so much! I am so glad i don't have to dig it up again and that it won't rot at the stem. I will fill in with soil and compost. It is so nice to have experienced brug growers to offer help and advice to all of us new gardeners making silly mistakes.
