If it's not too late, could we see your 'up close and personal' shots of your seedlings too?

Same hosta 9 days later. The second leaf has grown, but the first leaf just doesn't want to unfurl!

What fun pictures. Better save some of them for the photo contest later this year.

Fantastic pictures Sandy, but the commentary really makes them shine :-)

Glad you all enjoyed them. Last year at this time, who'd have thought I'd get a kick out of taking macros of seedlings!

Those are very cool shots!

I love to see the wee ones. Just something fascinating there and of course the promise of what's to be.

Nice photos Sandy.

Steven, They are just too cute! Daffy Duck is a perfect description! LOL
Please post if you discover any more cool ones.

LOL, it does look like Daffy Duck and the one on the right looks like it's blushing the way it's 'head' is tilted :) I wonder what he said?

It's hard to imagine Daffy saying anything romantic, but he sure must have said something nice (or naughty)!

Your first one looks like a Pelican to me and the second one is a Rebel. Remember a few years ago that mens' hairstyle where they had one long piece of hair at the back? I think it was called a rat's tail? Anyway.... reminds me of that! :-)

hee-hee These really are way cool. Thanks Steven. I often look for pictures in the clouds, or in things like wallpaper designs, but I've never thought of looking at new little sprouts in that way before.

You mean a mullet (spelling) Sandy? Whatever it is, a woman where I work has one of those and I have no idea what posesses her to do such a thing.......................................................................................................................................................But thats just my oppinion, so please don't be offended anyone if thats your thing :)

Ginny, I'm glad you like my sprouts!
Another good place to look is the stucco on a ceiling....hehehe :)
That is if you're lying down or don't mind getting a sore neck.

Steven, I think the mullet is short on top, long at the back. The style I mean is where the rest of the hair is very short, except for one long tail an inch or so wide and maybe 6 inces long coming from the nape of the neck. One of my son's friends used to have that style and my hubby used to tease him that he was going to snip it off!

Sandy, here is my little Viola coreana "Sylettas" sprouts with the first & second true leaves. They've grown one true leaf at a time after the cotyledons. I really like the little patterns on them. Hopefully it's going to be a good ground cover to compliment my hostas.

Those are lovely, Erynne. I like the leaf markings, too. I have Viola labridorica, which is a purplish one, that I've let reseed as a groundcover around some hostas, but it tends to disappear because it blends in with the soil. I bet those 'Sylettas' would show up much better!

Sandy

(Zone 6a)

Oh, right the rat tail, Sorry......... I got mixed up there. I've seen those before and I bet it would be tempting to snip it off :)

Those are cute little seedlings Erynne!

Steven
