Any ideas on what this tree might be?

St Augustine, FL(Zone 9a)

We were at the Animal Kingdom at Disney World recently and I saw a very unusual tree. The best way to describe it is that it looks like an umbrella. One trunk and huge (@ 12") round leaves in a dark glossy green. Any ideas?

Disneyland in california has great plants too. Especially the jungle area. Did you get a pic?

No, I didn't but will next time.

If it looked like an Umbrella it may have been a Shefflera, some call it Umbrella Tree! But I'm not sure of the "Round" leaves. Could maybe be a ficus of some sort. Sure would love to see a photo!

Here's a Sheff growing in my backyard:

Nope, the leaves are dark green, glossy and ROUND. Thanks though.

Have you looked at some pictures of different Ficus species to see if that might be it? Not all species have round leaves but I know some of them do, only thing I'm not sure of is if the leaf size is right.

Perhaps some type of Coccoloba, or ficus auriculata (roxburghii)?

Lonny, the shape of the leaf is like Coccoloba, but there was no red vein. This is making me nuts and we are going to have to go look at it again and take a photo. Thanks for your help.
