How can that be? I thought muscari were pretty much indestructable and considered invasive by many?
But many of my new bulbs from Scheepers (Christmass Pearl) did not come up at all.
Other older common muscari developed long and lanky thread like leaves (about a foot long in some cases) and have the flower buried deep inside the clump. Most disappeared.
Just not working out the way I planned...
Is it the strange weather, and/or did some varmint eat up my bulbs? (I thought the voles didn't like them).
Anyone have ideas on this? thanks. t.
No success with Muscari!!?
I'm having the problem with the long leaves highing the little flower stalk... Mine always come back and do spread, but I'm unhappy with the hidden flower....time for a trim job?
I've never had to trim or move mine due to crowding I just leave them to do their thing.
Tom
Well, I did give some of mine a 'hair cut' and they look better.
I am surprised though that I have such a motley showing this year. Very disappointing, unless others are yet to show their stalks and are still hiding underground.
And I don't remember my muscari blooming this early, either, although the 'Christmas Pearl', new to my garden are supposed to be early.
....so maybe some of the common variety are still to show up.
