Need opinions on some plants-

Medford, NJ(Zone 6b)

I'm about to place a plant order(even though I promised myself NO MORE PLANTS)- do you grow any of the below? How about wintering over, can they be left in a cool garage 50F over winter? Of the four plants listed which is your favorite? Any of the four listed difficult to grow?

COLOCASIA GIGANTEA

ALOCASIA 'SARIAN'

ALOCASIA MACRORHIZA

ALOCASIA MACRORHIZA 'LUTEA'

Thank you! Kristi

Kristi, they just need to be kept from freezing. They will go dormant and when spring arrives, they will re-emerge. They are simple to grow - water, warmth and light fertilizer. In the fall, drag them in and stop watering. Don't do anything for them all winter but keep above freezing. When the days become longer in the spring, they will start to grow. When you see new growth, bring them into the light and start watering and caring for them. That's how I grow them.

Kristi I have 3 of the 4 kinds. I have kept them in the greenhouse and the basement.seems like afew of them prefer room temp storage overwinter.

Al. Macrorrhizza will overwinter just fine in 50's and a little on the dry side.
