Service Dog

Zeus, my siberian husky/german shepherd mix, is extremely smart and obediant. I've worked with him intensely for a year now. I have a mental disorder in which Zeus seems to be in tune with, Bipolar Disorder (Manic Depression). He makes me feel good just being around me. He knows when I am unstable and seems to know automatically what to do to help me. He is my rock. I am legally disabled. According to the ADA, I can have a service dog. I have also read that I can train my own dog to be my service dog. But I can find no information about the specific requirements and how to go about having him certified. Anyone have any ideas?
