Don

By what strange alchemy the bloodstained, rugged cross of torment upon which Christ suffered and died for our sins could ever inspire such.

From God laying "on him the iniquity of us all"

and His bearing "our sins in his own body on the tree" (1 Pt 2:24).

….to the laying of chicken eggs.

God responded in love, not merely yielding Himself to His tormenters but bearing our sins and taking the judgment we justly deserved. amen.

Where's your sense of humor? That was hilarious!! Don't be going around in sackcloth just because it's Lent. Smile and be glad you're alive!

I always thought Lent should be at a different time of year. I can't possibly be anything but joyful in spring. And sackcloth would be really uncomfortable for gardening.lol

Nothing can be better on this earth than the joy of fellowship with Jesus and with those who know and are known by Him.

Petit potager, I am not a Bible reader so if that is a part of the Bible, you've lost me. To me this time of the year is getting my life in order and rethink what I have done and what I intend to do, better. I don't like to discuss religion but I don't like the inference that others, because children like chicks and ducks and those harbingers of new life, aren't being faithful to their risen Lord. I just can't believe that our Christ wouldn't have wanted us to appreciate our lives and the fun in it just because we are awaiting the feast of his Rising. I have had enough bad stuff happen to me since Thanksgiving 2005 that I am thankful to Him for my being alive and I live everyday looking for the good, the funny, the ridiculous - anything to make me laugh instead of cry - and thankful for everything that makes life worthwhile.

Well you've both lost me here but as for good cheer let me give you a quick snapshot of my life before I was 22. I worked in a field of the military where survival was only one in ten. I've sat in the lap of death 3 times and kiss him full on the mouth knowing it was my turn and did it not happen, I even made the command decision that killed my two best friends and then watched the results . So in short to me if I wake up in the morning and I'm alive the rest is just gravy. There are no good day or bad, they are in a word spectacular.

Don, within a 3 week period, I have suffered the loss of 2 dear people in my family after holding death vigils for over 6 weeks. Thank you for making me really laugh which hasn't happened often lately. :o)

htop, have you been reading the DH terminal thread on the prayer forum? If you want to laugh, read that. That sounds really strange thing to say, but the end of the thread is really very funny. It was started by Bama because her DH had terminal cancer. He died unfortunately, but her sense of humor will see her through this.

Mary Lee, will do.
