First time planting bulbs in Fla. Planted about 80 yesterday - Cannas, Dahlias (tubors), Eucomis (Pinapple Lily), Elephant ear, Caladium, Agapanthus (clump), I know I'm being impatient, but how long before I see something poking out of the ground?
How long?
Well, it won't be tomorrow but I would not be surprised if you don't start seeing something somewhere in a couple of weeks. The waiting is the most difficult part. It gets sooo exciting when you start seeing little bits poking out of the soil. I got anxious to see 'what was going on' with a pot that I put some fresias in last week and dug one up... it was a tiny bulb but it had 2 inch roots coming from it already.
Good Luck,
Tammie
I can only comment on the caladiums you planted. Depending on the variety you should start seeing sprouts poking through the ground in 2-3 weeks, probably closer to 3. As our temperatures warm up here in FL they'll begin growing alot quicker. Which variety of Elephant ear did you plant?
