I was planting things and decided to remove a small clump of Corona de Cristo (Passiflora foetida var. gossypifolia) that had traveled to the front of the bed so I could plant something there. Without thinking (I should know better), I took my shovel and started to dig it out. But then I saw it. A cat! I decided to leave the clump. That passiflora comes up in various parts of the back yard, getting to be a nuisance, but it's the first kind the GFs use in the spring.

Way to go!!! My passiflora is blooming beautifully...gobs and gobs of purple flowers and so far no eggs or signs of cats...but am sure that will be short lived. They'll show up in full force and strip it bare again this year :o)

Your first G.F. cat this season! How exciting!!!! Good thing you looked before removing. :-)
I had to cut some of my Passiflora back from the outside of my fence. I can't monitor it there and my neighbor has made a few comments about things coming over or through my fence. I understand her concern. But it about killed me to cut them back. They were beautiful and very thick! And there were tons of buds all over the pieces I cut back. I tried looking through all of it for cats, but there was a huge pile of it and I just gave up. I had to bag'em, twas so was very sad. Of course, it's still thick as thieves on my side of the fence. It seems to flower better on the other side though, due to the sun coming up on that east side.
