Looking to find White Mamosa seeds

Villa Rica, GA(Zone 7a)

Looking for White Mamosa tree seeds.I know there is such a thing, because I have seen it on the roadside but I can't seem to find anyone who has the white ones for trade. I will gladly send you a list of my trades if anyone has any to offer.
TIA

Hi Mollybee,

I once bought some white mimosa (Albizzia) seeds from JLHudson, said to be from the one tree in US. It never bloomed for me in over 16 years. I finally dug up a rooted sucker and sent it to a friend in Washington. Hopefully it will bloom for him, and he has promised to send me some seeds. So, maybe years from now... Is it possible for you to gather seeds from the plants you have seen? The flowers make long seedpods like a striing bean with seeds inside...

John, I will keep my fingers crossed for you. Maybe you will be able to get the seeds from your friend. As for the one I saw on the road, it is a VERY busy interstate and I would be wayyy to chicken to try and get any seed from it. so I guess I will keep on looking for someone who has the seeds. O BTW is that your olnly mimosa tree?? Maybe if you had 2 trees you would have better luck. I can't believe that a 16 yr old tree like that has never bloomed, that is just too weird. Good Luck and may your tree bloom SOON!

There are other mimosa trees nearby, all pink flowered. That might help seed set IF there were ever any flowers. Cannot imagine why my tree has never bloomed. Good luck, maybe someone else can help. You might try J.L. Hudson, Seedsman, he has a website and catalogue. John

Thanks for the info John. I will check it out.
Good Luck to you

Molly, fixing to check out the locally owned nursery just a few miles from here.Since I bought my pink one there, they might carry a white one, too.DId U know some people down your way [on another gardn site] think of the mimosa as a 'weed tree'? not wacky weed...LOL...a real weed like a mesqiute tree!...Tx bud
p.s if they have one ,I'll do the 'pruning' so I won't have to mail a GIANT BOX !..LOL
