Slippery Slope

Granbury, TX(Zone 7b)

When we moved to Texas 2 and a half years ago to retire, we wanted a house on the water and ended up with an acre lot on the Brazos river. The previous owners had landscaped the front fairly well and fenced and landscaped about 50 feet of the backyard. The next 300 feet were au naturale. The area included a fairly steep slope near the top and another dropoff near the river. We weren't comfortable mowing the slope on the riding mower so we decided to put in a curved decomposed granite path wide enough for the riding mower and then to make the slope into a garden. Here's a before pic.
