Is it warm enough to ship cuttings yet??????

North Augusta, ON

My friend in Hawaii is itching to send my cuttings...is it warm enough yet do you think? I'm itching to get them too of course.....the days are hovering in the low 50's, but the nights are still dropping to the mid 30's (farenheit)...

I think I might wait it gets cold sitting in that box. You want to get off to a good start why take a chance. Won't be long now wish I had a friend that wanted to do a nice thing like that lol.

I had ordered adeniums and plumerias and emailed him to ask about my order. He said that he won't ship plumeria cuttings until April....I am in zone 9 so it isn't a problem here...but with him it is....too cold...

ok, then I guess I am just gonna hav4e to be more patient....which is really, really, hard....

Yes, yes, I agree. It is still too cold across most of the country. Cold stress will make a cutting impossible to root so I wouldn't risk it right now. I would wait until most of the country's temps and your temps are above 50.

above 50??? eeeeks...that's gonna feel like forever away...patience is NOT one of my virtues......lol

also consider that at 60,000 feet in an airplane it is very cold in the cargo hold area.
Your plumies will be plumcicles
I know from experience
Its best to be patient and rewarded rather than anxious and sorry. ;)

trying to be patient..still in the low 40's here. Not helping is the fact that my friend lives in Hawaii and likes to rub in the fact that it's still cold here. Every day she aks me "has it warmed up enough yet?"

I sure hope things are warming up there where you are. Today is moving day! ... again! Time to move the cuttings outside. They have finally started putting on new leaves since I moved them back into the atrium for that winter blast 2 weeks ago... very happy there but it is in the 80's outside now and lows are in the 50's & 60's... time for the babies to start growing up... very exciting for me. they had very few leaves a couple of weeks ago.. thanks to cold weather and white flies!

It was 41 here at 6:00 a.m. this morning. I am getting inflo's and new growth on the ones outside too, but the ones in the greenhouse are staying there for a while yet. The heat does them good.
