I grow a lot of different bulbs. And every year I add more.
Most are planted in containers and most I can leave out year round in my zone 8 garden.
In the past I've been keeping everything watered after they go dormant. But I've been reading that there are many bulbs that need to be kept dry during the summer.
I did a few searches but haven't found a list anywhere of the bulbs that need to be treated this way.
Can you tell me the bulbs that need summer dryness so I can make my own list?
I know Alliums are one.
Thank you for your help.

What bulbs need to stay dry in summer?
Joy, there are quite a few, I found some sites which may help. Some bulbs requiring dry summer dormancy can be kept that way by planting with other plants that take up the water in summer. I have tulips successfully growing this way in a hosta bed, more in a fuchsia bed.
