I have grown this one for years it is a bit slower than some but the leaves are much darker than any other colocasia I have seen. The leaves tend to be velvety looking at sometimes their is blotches of green on some leaves. Have any of you tried this one before??
That was a older pic above but you can see how it looks velvety in it. This photo shows how it can get blotches in the leaves. A bit similar to Black marble.
The stems are just as dark. It is the darkest plant I think I have seen. I am not sure how larger it can get mine usually get around 3 to 4 feet tall.
Very nice! is this considered a new hybrid? or have you had it out a few years?
This is not one of my hybrids. I believe it came out of Hawaii many years ago. It is probably a very very old hybrid done by the Hawaiians.
