Sounds like snail eggs.

Approx what size are you talking about?

Maybe frog or toad egg strings?

It's definately frog breeding time so maybe that as imapigeon suggested. Snails are a definate maybe too. Theirs looks like globs of jelly attached everywhere.

Hi, we seem to have a similar problem with our pond. The whole thing is covered in a layer of jelly and as fast as I scoop it out, it just reforms again. I'm at a loss as to what it is. Our pond is about 20ft by 15ft and it's a mess!

Snail gunk/jellly is usually connected to something...the wall, a plant leaf, etc....A real menace to get rid of....
There are some medications for fish that warn you to not use it in ponds/tanks that have invertebraes, as it will kill them......I was once told to use that on a pond with too many snails, it will kill them too.

Toad eggs, are in long strands, like black beads.....the toad-poles (as I call them) will keep your water clean, but the fish will not eat them, they taste bitter. Beneficial to your yard once they turn into toads.

Frog eggs, float on the surface in a jelly blob for a day or two, until they turn into tadpoles.....the fish will eat the tadpoles, but the tadpoles will keep your water crystal clear....
