Australian Emerald (Hemicordulia australiae)
How did you manage this shot of it 'in flight'?
dinu, this species and its cousin Hemicordulia tau, frequently hover. That is they hold themselves statuionary (except for the rapidly berating wings) in the air and this gives one time to focus on the flying insect for a photograph.

I too tried such shots, but failed. May be one or two have come off okay. Haven't shared here, but I'll search for you sometime - it is at home.
