Interested in exchanging a clivia plant for a different colored clivia.(or seed for seed) I prefer a yellow Vico but will take anything that is different from mine. I recently researched my clivia with the American Clivia Society and was told the following:
"The plant pictured could be almost any cross, but does not appear to be one of the "Named" plants in my library.
I end up with many crosses that look just like that one in flower and usually have to back cross it with the parent or another sibling plant to see if any further colors are hiding in the genes. That said it is not the standard Belgium or French Hybid sold at the garden centers, the leaves and bloom are wrong for that. It is either from a plant passed down from some time ago from one of the old growers in the U.S. (or from one of the older Estates, which I doubt as they typically carry more orange and not that much yellow in the throat),or the plant is from more recent South African lines due to the narrow leaves and more yellow throat. I would pollinate it with 'Vico Yellow to increase the bloom size and see if the bi-color effect of your flower follows. Sorry I was not much help in the matter. At least it's not the old typical orange!"
If interested, send pics/descrips of yours and let's make it happen!
