White/red splotches on waterlilys?

No. San Diego Co., CA(Zone 10b)

We have several waterlilys in our (fairly) new pond. The seem to be growing quickly, but instead of green leaves, a lot of them have white or red splotches. Could this be a fungus? The only things we've add to the pond are mosquito dunks and a little peroxide. It is starting to clear after a real green water spell and we have tons of polliwogs and other creepy crawlies!

might be from the peroxide

Can you post a pic? Arc en ciel has white/pink on the pads and tons of waterlilies have red/brown variegation on the pads, any chance that's what you're seeing?

I was out at the pond as you wrote! Most of our waterlilies are from WalMart, though we did get a few from Texas WL. Not sure about this one, but the pads on the others are similar in color. We are newbie ponders - I had to look up the arc en ciel! I have more pics if needed.

Thanks!

I think Paul was right........peroxide damage.

Any damage done except for appearance?

No, you should be ok, the new leaf sprouts will appear under water and continue to grow....

And you're right, Mary. They have all continued to grow and are blooming just fine.
