*yawn* Two days later & I'm still beat.. wow..
Halter - Chewie made first cut out of about 15 or so horses. Romeo did not. I'm happy with that. No ribbons, but Chewie is a little lean on muscle right now, and if he gets mroe developed, that means he could do even better. A big achievement among large halter-AQHA horses.
Showmanship - Chewie and I messed up the pattern, and competed against perfect showmanship horses. Romeo & the little girl placed 7th (don't know how many, they ribbon 1-10, and we didn't stand around to see how many were in there. 15 maybe?)
Riding .
The lady I thought was going to ride Chewie Western Pleasure only wanted to ride walk/trot, much to my sadness. She was "disappointed he wasn't easier to neck rein, and not as slow as she wanted". I guess she was under the impression I was handing her a first-place horse. I did tell her, "if he were a perfect horse, I'd be riding him in WP today".
Novice Horse - Chewie earned 8th out of 21
Novice Rider - Romeo earned 10th out of 28
W/T Open - No idea, but I doubt we got anything. There were probably 20+ horses out there, Chewie was a goofball , Romeo was refusing to turn right at one corner.
All in all, a fun day. Both horses gave me what I asked for, Chewie endured a new rider with harsh hands and bad seat, and Romeo stayed patient all through his first show.
