13 varieties of good size streps

Floyd, VA(Zone 6b)

I have the following streps, many of them blooming size (their siblings have bloomed.) One thing I have discovered is that if you put several streps in a lasagna pan, when they bloom, it looks like a bed of pansies. I have Falling Stars and Blue Waters doing that right nowI would like to trade for AV plantlets or Strep plantlets or leaves.
CHERRY PIE, FALLING STARS, LAVENDER ROSETTE, BRISTOLS POPSICLE, BRISTOLS BLUE BERRY BUTTERFLY, PATS SWALLOWTAIL, MIDAS, BETHANE, ALS PALS, CHERRY DIP, BLUE MARS

I would like to trade for AV plantlets or Strep plantlets or leaves.

Donna,
Your streps will probably be pretty small and not big enough to take leaves. I am stuck with this problem I have of over-propagating! I have way too many and Pat's Pets is sending 20 more leaves; in addition, I have a man who will send me countless types of leaves. I have absolutely no business getting that many more, but I am an obsessive collector when I get started. I put down about 12 new leaves yesterday too.
This means that in three months, I will have even more.

However, if in a couple of months you have streps with big enough leaves, we could trade. If you are paying $5.95 per plant, you are paying a big price compared to exchanging plants. BUT if you quickly put one leaf down of all your new ones, in three months you could have 15 to 25 plantlets of each one. This would give you a big source for trading. By that time, I expect to have well over forty-five varieties or more.

When they arrive, contact me and I will give you the exact instructions I use to get as much 30+ plants from one leaf. It is very easy and absolutely labor free. You just let them stay in their little humidity chambers (take out flat bottomed salad boxes) until the plantlets are ready to remove from the mother leaf.

Ok, I have to ask.. what is a strep? What conditions do they grow in?

Tammie,
A streptocrpus is a relative of the African Violet; I believe it is from Africa (other name is Cape Primrose.) They look quite different from av and grow bigger. They have lush leaves that are like ruffled lettuce.

The Streps I got are all Bristol's. I plan to pot 3 each in a hanging basket on my porch
Rhubarb
Ribbon candy
Popsicle
Daisy Jane
Phaser Blast
Red Plum
I treated myself to them with tax refund lol. I haven't had any in almost 2 years now since loosing them all in Katrina. My Sinningia Sellovii survived and is doing great. I am getting Sinningia Tubiflora at the Florala plant swap next month
