Woohoo!!! Got some photos of four Giant Swallowtails puddling. Haven't seen that activity by Giants in decades!!! This made my day!!! Week!!! Year!!!

Wow, these are great Cat! I've never seen GST's puddling, in pics or live.

Yep, hadn't seen that in decades :o) I remember growing up at the ranch and we'd see various butterflies puddling on cow patties :o) as well as any puddle that formed after a rare rainfall.

There are gobs of GSTs at the ranch right now. I must have counted at least 30 on the 7/10 mile dirt road from the house to the windmill. Which, by the way, we finally fixed. It had been broken for months and the pond was completely dried up. Lots of deer and feral hog tracks in the dried mud where they were looking for water. I re-dug the small trench that leads to the pond and planted banana trees along both sides of it. Put a piece of metal gutter under the water pipe so that the water would hit the metal and make noise. Sure sounds like a babbling brook :o) Can't wait until next weekend to see what else shows up. That's the only water source in that couple hundred patch of land.
